Even tho I have no love for poor Chinese manufacturing.

The phrase " slanted-eyed Chinese was IMHO in poor taste.

Your better than that SH.

Take a good look at the comments, most classify the article as complete Horsesh**

but in general I could care donkeypoo what Nvidia or Ati does or what happens with them, the new cards arent really the improvement you know...they just make it bigger and suck more watts out of your household, nice on the electricity bills.

For once.....I agree with you

I always by 2 generations down. This way I don't have driver issues and it works good for cheap!

My thoughts - if this is true. First off, its a MONSTER GPU - that thing has to be huge under that heat sink at that size! Second, way outside of my comfort range for power req's. 3rd, not modular like the future designs will warrant. Forth, overly complicated to manufacture a single card which will translate into big $$$ for us. 5th, expensive for even the memory since many chips are needed to create the 512 BW.

ATI might get its crown back it would seem. Even if they didn't for some unknown reason, I'd say that low power and decent speed always wins me over. For example, i hated ATI's 2900 XT part - that thing was a waste of space.

None of this means anythign though if you read between the lines - This is a case of NVidia resting on it's laurels more than anything. That ticks me off, regardless of company. Shows what would happen if their competition dropped out. We would all be stuck with high priced boards that aren't much better than the last one we bought. This is my big beef with what i see.

Its already a miracle thay are obtaining those yields with a graphics chip as big as 500 mm^2.
Monolithic chips are not the way of the future (too big, too hot etc...), even Nvidia acknowledges it even though they still are going with monolithic chips for GT260, GTX280.
