Slow jerky mouse pointer - Page 2

When preorder SH4 was delivered to my door I only had a 5600.

My buddy was here and brought his 6600.

We tried both and the 6600 barely let it play at bottom levels but, it played.

The 5600 no go .

Got a 7600 gt 512 mb and more ram (4gigs) & 3.0 cpu
best I could find for agp mobo at the time.

Plays SH4 with big mods at highest settings and 80 to 150 fps average and higher.

Don't know if my info helps, but can't hurt.

I have a quad core (4x2.80ghz) with 3GB ram and a GeForce 8600 256MB vid card and it does it to me, usually when time is speeded up.

The card you listed *should* do the job just fine.

Looks like your video is onboard (a nforce?) , if that's right, you'll wanna disable that.

I would *at least* get a 7950GT, and would be looking hard at the 8800 series .

One more thing- I would take a good hard look at that 300W power supply and beef it up. A high powered video card with a quad core processor, with hard drive and DVDR/W will tax the living hell out of that thing. I would say 450, if not 500. Is your tower standard ATX?

I have already talked to the local computer guru about a 500 watt pwr supply. That will be my first upgrade. Then I can shop for a vid card.

I have a Dell laptop coming with a 256 mb Gforce 8600 card. Will that run SH4 ok?

I am not that computer literate to the guts of computer, and I really appreciate your alls help.

You will be fine with that card, it's the same one i use (PC version tho). Had no problems with it (yet

)

mine at all that hot,, geforce 7300 , 2gig ram, duel core 2.13, it runs great except mouse is sluggish at speeds of 1000 or more time compression. I have to slow to 512 to really use the mouse. But thats ok. Its a GREAT game.
