Yes and no! As Bert8for3 says, the bearing dial (or scope viewing direction) drives the needle on the gyro angle dial after the lead-aim is calculated based on the other 3 dials (range, AOB, target and torpedo speed). But since you want 0 gyro angle for best aiming accuracy (when torpedo's do not need to turn) you still look to the gyro dial to see at which bearing you should fire. And so I allways wait for the target to pass that bearing (which results in 0 gyro angle) through the scope or on hydrophone before I pull the trigger.
