How does one get a pharmacist? Is this part of a mod or 1.5?:hmm:

Hi Schroeder, in my career the medic came during a patrol (as well as the radarman

and the advanced engine crewmembers.)
I think they got a certain level of experience.

I only recruited that yellow torpedo crewmember (cuts loading time in half. and the carrot eating watchmember.) All the rest I got during patrols.

But I'm playing with the U-boat missions (V1.5) and with MODS, from the beginning (I started to play this game some weeks ago.) so I don't know if it's MOD or 1.5 related.

It's free. You get it when your boat gets a refit, which is a pretty random event. Using the search you'll find Ducimus' research on the subject.

If I read correctly my gato bathtub should get an upgrade somewhere in 1943. I did't get a renown of 800 during a patrol. It's already 1943 feb. in my career... So it can't take long for me to get my upgrade. I guess I got a little nervous

One thing about renown: Like getting new commands(new subs), refits also seem to depend on renown as Duci wrote in that thread. You don't, however, need to "save" renown to make things happen. In the case of new subs and higher ranks the game looks at your accumulated renown when deciding whether you deserve better or not. That means you are free to spend all your renown on upgrades and torpedoes right now or save it to spend it on them later, but there's no need to save it in order to make progress in the game. There might be other factors too, like the amount of patrols, but accumulated renown is definitely a major one.

I started my career with the S-18 boat from Manilla. During my first patrol my base was changed to Surabaya. From there i begun my 2nd patrol and during this one my base was changed to Perth-Fremantle. When I docked there I was offered a new Class, A Porpoise Class (USS-Pike SS-173)
After I made my 3rd patrol I was offered a new subagain. This was the USS DRUM Gato Class. Suddenly my base was changed to Pearl Harbor.
I did my 4th patrol and during that patrol my base was changed to Midway.

I want to stay with the Drum. I like this sub, Because i thing that the next class (balao) is strong. So i will not accept a newer class and try to finish the war with the Drum.
I like the name because I used to smoke tabacco called DRUM.
