Hello,
there are quite some links, one is here: http://jtmcdaniel.com/walter_turbine.html The turbine was only installed in experimental ships though. Even if the type XXI boat was initially built for the Walter hydrogen peroxide drive with its 8-shaped hull section, the lower "tube" was then used to house the huge batteries the XXI type became well-known for. Initially the lower part should have contained the hydrogen peroxide, but the rubber-coated design was not in operational stage until the end of the war. Neither metal, water nor oxygen was allowed to have direct contact or it would react in a hefty way. The prototypes did perform well however and were almost unhearable on the hydrophones.
