Hillary is staying in the race to damage Obama just enough so that he loses to McCain. Then in four years time, when McCain is 76 years old and looking and sounding even more like a frail old man, Hillary will run against him.

I disagree. Can you imagine the swell of anti-Hillary opinion if she is seen to have cost the Dems the White House?
It would be like Nader running for the Dems in 2004!

2008 is her last, best chance.

People have been following that trial for months. And no it is going to have nothing to do with Obama.

And I think you have it crossed on the defence part. Recent reports state that the evidence is likely weak.

I think she is staying in because obama hasn't gotten the 2025 delegates yet (his luster isn't great like the media whores portray it). The election is McCains to lose.

The democrats should have locked Clinton, Obama and a knife in a room and shouldn'T have opened the door again before only one of the three was left. What the democrats are allowing to happen is - getting dismantled by the two. Stupid no matter why, and how it is called simply - stupid. They had two candidates both of them were popular enough to deliver McCain a deafeat just some months ago. Now they have one sure looser, and the other's chances in extremely serious doubt. Stupid. Every organisation can afford only so big an ego at the top, and not bigger.

Doesn't matter. that the two still hanging at each other's throat is dramatically damaging the democrats' chances to win, no matter who their candidate will be - that was my point.

This issue with Rezko was brought up months ago. It will be a non-issue. If there was more to it then we would have seen more about it.

She's already done that in all probability. She'll run again...her whole life is based on the aquisition of power.

I don't think she's wrought that much damage, to be honest. Her game is over, my inbox is stuffed with McCain/Obama general election talk, only Clinton is focusing on the nomination race. It's all in how she decides to lose.
Most of those Clinton supporters who say they'll vote McCain, c'mon, they're not fooling anyone.
Party identification is looking better and better for Dems, worse and worse for Republicans. In many counties, primary turnout exceeded 2004 general alection turnout. It's going to be a close race this year, but it's by no means decided.
Obama isn't playing the usual Democratic election game, and the traditional GOP points aren't going to work for John McCain.

Since McCain is sewing up both left and right wing votes, I don't see how he could lose, but its also not so clear cut. Obama has a lot of negative baggage he is carrying.

Now here is one thing I dislike about McCain, but an example of his middle left policies:

How far into the middle left can you get? Uggh!

No good choices this time around. A strong candidate is needed and one doesn't exist.

Renewable energy isn't really a left/right issue.
