Nope! They are also slightly more reliable than the Mark 14s. As the war goes on the Mark 23s don't cost anything and are well worth using because of their increased reliability. As long as they cost renown, I'd just stick with the Mark 14.

The Mark 23 was exact same thing as the Mark 14, except that it lacked the slow-speed setting. It didn't last long in service because, as the war progressed and Japanese ASW improved, submarines had to fire shots from farther away, hence the need for the low-speed setting.
