You need to download ALL the .bin files (7 i think) and put them in that folder you created on your desktop along with the .exe setup file.
Once thats done just run the exe and it`ll unpack and install GWX2 from the bin files. You shouldnt need to unzip/unpack or extract anything yourself ![]() |

Start over. Make a folder anywhere on your computer, label it GWX. Download all files to this folder (don't do anything to them). I think there are about 5 or 6 bin files and one exe file. When you have them all loaded into the GWX folder, double click on the exe file and everything will download to SHIII.

Success, Gentlemen! (I'm just making an assumption that we're probably all of the male variety here)
I want to thank each and every one of you who chimed in with your help and warm welcomes. Yes, the answers were there all along of course, it's just that as I said before, I'm still (and at my age always will be) computer-challenged, and so I dropped the ball from the beginning. Now that I know where I went wrong (thanks to the helpful nudgings from you guys) I feel even more like a rube! My biggest regret is that I didn't come crawling to you all sooner, but I guess it didn't hurt me any to keep on plugging away at the stock sim. I finally figured out manual targetting and all (except sometimes I still think a ship is still yet to cross in front of me when it turns out it had actually passed by already....still gotta work on that AoB thing!..and yes I did recently find the truly excellent tutorial on that). Anyway, I've only had time to go in and have a quick look around..Man am I impressed by just the small glimpse I've gotten!...Really makes me wish I didn't have to leave for work now..Hats off and gratitude to all involved with this project...This should keep me "lost" for a long time to come. Again, a huge thanks to you all...I truly appreciate your kind patience to this bilge rat. You all can be very proud of this fine community, and I'm happy to be here. Happy hunting, guys!! (and gals if there are any) |
