I've been sunken more often by a Flower then any bigger size Destroyer.

something similar happened to my friend tom, when trying to infiltrate scapa flow. His boat, U-46 (one under Gunther Prien's boat, which was what inspired him to make an attempt at the base), made it past the scottish air patrols and the destroyer screens and was only a few yards from the harbor, when a trawler depth charged him. He freaked out and dove, IN SHALLOW WATER! The nose of his boat hit the bottom and it began to flood. Another depth charge attack from the trawler would spell death for him.

one tactic i have used once or twice against trawlers is to let them pass me, surface when his back is to you and his main wep cannot train on you and man the deck gun as quick as possible and fire off a shell or two, and TRY to hit him in a vital area...if it takes too long and the trawler is now turned into a position to start lobing shells at you, say ur prayers. lol
