Are you in port when you install the mods or are you starting a new career after installation? Some require a new mission to be started to take effect.

Try a single mission or a single war patrol.

It could be this easy mistake...

When you unzip a mod, it's usually inside a redundent folder.

Open a folder called "unzipped mod", and you will see the folder inside is also called "unzipped mod".

Open that one, and you should see the data folder.

The 'outer' or first "unzipped mod" folder is just packaging. You need to get rid of it.

Only copy the second "unzipped mod" folder (with the data inside) into your JSGME.

It should not be My Mod/My Mod/data.

Just My Mod/data.

Monolith probably nailed it - I have done that many a time and had to take out that extra folder layer.

I finally got the mods into jsgme..I had to go into the sh4 files find the jsgme then placed on the desktop..Now that that is done why would it show a transfer to activated but while playing i only have the original settings?? Example is Pe2,RFB,and RSRDC. The jsgme shows the transfer but they are not on the game I wish i knew what i was doing...

When you don't know what you are doing, consult the Help file. It is your friend.

Quote:
- MICROSOFT VISTA USERS: If you are running the Generic Mod Enabler on Vista and are having problems with mods "taking" (the usual symptom is that the MODS folder itself is not created when the Generic Mod Enabler is first run), then simply right-click JSGME.exe in Windows Explorer and select "Run as Administrator". Alternatively, right-click JSGME.exe and select "Properties". In the properties window select the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode" and in the box below select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". In some instances you may need to apply both solutions.
I'll let others go through the usual "don't install SH4 to Program Files" and such drill...

Also make sure you have JSGME installed in this path C:\Program Files(or whever you installed the game)\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific and not C:\Documents and Settings\(Name Here)\My Documents\SH4 , that was my problem a while back.

One thing to remember about Vista is that the Security protocols prevent changing
any of the programs installed in the "Program Files" unless you do it as an Administrator.

Suggestion is to install the game in a different folder other than the "Program Files"
folder, to by pass the security protocols. (i.e. Create a "games" folder and install
the game in that folder). You can now install mods via JSGME without the
problems.

It's probably not related to Thumper's problem concerning Vista, but after upgrading my JSGME to V2.0.1.002 for use on SH4. I find it also updated my SH3 JSGME, and now I am unable to install correctly anything on SH3, using JSGME.

My SH3 installation is effectively now SH3-GWX 2.0. JSGME worked just fine before update.

The application shows installed components, but is actually installing outside of the data folder within the parent directory.

Works a treat for SH4 however!
