No there is a campaign. Now you have a Pacyfic campaign, for me is too easy, Jap ASW is too weak. If there will be available a jap campaign i will love to play. And you have a U-Boot campaign 43-45 on Indian ocean.

Was it a vanilla SH4 or did you have the U-boats as well?

The addon adds some great things to the sh4 game . I am enjoying the pacific campaign . But the uboat campaign being remade by GWX team reminds me of well , frankenstein trying to piece together a monster bit by bit . Good luck and i am sure it will rise from the table and conquer the world . cheers sober out .

It was vanilla when it first came out.
I'd choose SH3 anytime.

I loath the BUGS and the arcadish feel of SH4. Even after some patches some important bugs still persisted like the sub tendency to sink abruptly and fast while diving. It was a traumatic experience.

The game is pretty disturbing, when you look at the files there's litteraly tons of old SH3 files that are of no use in SH4. I guess it doesn't matter when playing, but it uses quite a lot of HDD space for nothing.

More SH4 for me than SH3, though I've got them both installed. SH3 looks so ugly nowadays that I usually need a really good reason to fire it up(like getting fed up with the outrageous tonnage in the u-boat add-on in its stock form, new GWX version getting released, etc)

Then again age doesn't really count much if there's no good alternative, Falcon 4 being one good example. Even though the original game was released back in 1998, people still play Falcon 4 AF(among other Falcon "flavors") which is really a heavily modded/updated version of the original.

Yes, currently run campaigns in 4 installs one with Real Fleet Boat on with Trigger Maru Overhaul and one with the U-Boats. The 4th install is a test bed for RFB 1.5

I still have SH3+GWX2 and one SH3+NYGM.

75% SH4
25% SH3

Currently awaiting RFB 1.5 for Beta Testing.
Monsun Boat Campaign by Lurker lh3 will be up pretty soon I believe.

You really cannot compare the two theaters. I enjoy both theaters tremendously.

Its all good!

Yeah, I laughed my butt off while browsing through the SH4 Data folder. I bet if you took the time to delete all the SH3 files, you would remove half of the install.:rotfl:

Can you please elaborate on that a bit? I've heard this statement many times, but what exactly makes the game so has escaped me so far...

You want information about SH4, go to those forums, lots of good info there. Also, you will be talking to folks who play the game on a regular basis
