This is really a great MOD!!

I am, however, having just a few minor difficulties:

1. Sometimes I have to take one of the non-active officers and place them in an active slot in able to hear the new orders, such as speed, direction, periscope depth, etc.

The only thing I did to the MOD was to replace and/or add a few sound files, didn't touch the speech files.

It just doesn't seem like all the speech files are being activiated when I issue certain orders.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks friends for testing and your remarks to this work. Certainly sounds of English speech I was forced to take from films. With my comrade from Sweden we asked our English friends to write down their English voices and sent them to me. For this work. But they appeared very timid. Then I had to use voices from "Das Boot", "Convoy-PQ17" and other films. Also I looked the sites of the Britannic and American admiralty, to do this work historically correct (more less). I took most sounds from my own archives. From films which I did. (my profession of sound-designer and sound producer). I used them in this work.

Galanti and Andycaccia:

I agree with your ideas. But beginning of voice "crash dive" I took from "Das Boot" (Alarm!!!). Because my English friends not able it to cry. If here are errors is not my guilt. Sound producers are guilty which translated the sound of this film from the German language into English (and got a good money for this work, I think). Say as it to correct? I will do it for this mod.

Andycaccia:

O! you have a wonderful ear! You rights. Sounds of engines are the collected sounds. They are done from the different sounds of engines and mixdown together. I did it because engines are bad heard in a game (not successful programmatic options). I had to pick up high and middle frequencies of sound so that to hear anything well (more less).

Capt frank:

What did you want to hear in Sh4 additionally? I will make attempt do it. But I think that will be needed specialist of software Sh4, what to include it in a game.

Request: If some sounds are too loud or not correct - please, say me. I will correct it. Or at least will explain why I did it so.

I wish all the successes!

Well, the engine sound may be ok for the u boat campaign, but for amenrican subs you could simply re work the nedgine sounds conatiend in other mods i.e ROW sound effects or others, essential is the "fairbank morse" diesel generator, which can be coupled with the electric motor sound used as propellers sound, in order to recereate a perfect diesel-electric boat. Also a rework of the submarine wave would be nice: you should add the idle sound of the diesel engines running ad low rpm to simulate generators running.

Theese are only my personal suggestion, but the chioice is, of coure, your.

It's not that I want to hear anything more, it's that I don't hear some sounds in the "speech" file unless I switch out the helmsman from one that doesn't say a particular order to one that does.

Then again, it could be my soundcard!

Anyway, I really am enjoying your MOD, it really does add tremendously to the game!

Thanks!

Is anone having problems with filefront today? Have tried to D/L Pouls sound mod but just can't go to filefronts site. Normally I have no problem.
Looking forward to hearing this mod. I remember Pouls SH3 mod and it was good.

OK, I agree with your ideas. But in our time we already can not know as engines of submarines sounded then. We can only suppose. I supposed that it would sound approximately so. It is possible to build other virtual sound models. It is possible to take necessary sounds (which are anymore liked) from other mods. Here on a forum it is placed much remarkable sound mods.

Thank you for ideas!

capt frank:

Yes. It can be problem with soundcard. But it is possible to make attempt influence a 3d sound. I am glad that this mod brought you pleasure.

Limkol:

If a problem will not be decided - say about it to me. I will load this mod on other address.

@Poul

Many thanks you mod is simply superb!

Just two small notes...
On torpedo stricking a boad there is a repetition of the cheer, the second cheer could be removed in my opinion because not all floating bathtubes go down on 1st torp

Other is running for silence
The "engines to two thirds" is missleading, most of the times I run to silence with engines off

Anyway the sound environment is great with your mod. Cheers

How does this MOD work with the latest ROW Sound Effect v_9 and ROW Sounds + RSRDC III Sh.sdl Add-on?
Should this MOD be enabled after those ROW Sound MODS for the 1.5 version of SH4 when one wants to sail as the U-Boat?

How does this MOD relate to the Spaxs German Speech MOD? Does one choose one or the other? Does one overwrite the other?

Should the ROW Mods be disabled and this MOD enabled each time one wants to sail the U-Boat?

I downloaded and it doesn't seem JSGME ready... it has sub-folders, separately named with their own data folders...
There is a 'Poul-Sound for SH4' folder, a 'Return for Creaks and Man the deck(flak) gun' folder (with data folder in it), 'Return for Man the deck and flak gun', etc. Just dropping the main folder "Poul etc" into the MODS folder wouldn't seem to work. help?

Could someone explain how to install/enable these sound/speech MODS? It's pretty confusing to me...sorry.

Not if you know where to look. I have very good audio recordings of U-boat diesel engines running that were recorded from the bridge, not to mention other internal sounds.
