The stock game has way too many ships. Every mod that has less ships was done just that way - one at a time. A lot of hard work by a lot of dedicated people.
If you want it different you're stuck doing it all over again.

You can try upping the spawn rates
They are many and varied though so its pot luck Use the replace function in notepad SpawnProbability=75 to SpawnProbability=100 etc Will increase shipping levels |

but most are already at 100. Is it possible to have more prob then 100? Is it just a factor, can i set spawnProbability to for example 400?
Also, these changes, do they need a new career to be started to take effect? I tried to increase the speed of some uboats but nothing changed. E |

I put some of Time Travelers mods up on filefront. If you download the SH3 Inspector file, you will be able to change the speed of the subs and many, many other things. The speed is stored in the .sim file (ie. NSS_Uboat21.sim) not in the NSS_Uboat21.cfg file even though it is listed there too. SH3 Inspector modifies the .sim file and the .zone file of what ever sub you choose. You will need to restart the game for the mod to take effect but you don't have to restart your career or your mission. Just save, exit, re-start, & reload. You be right back where you were with a faster sub. the Inspector will also launch the config file for editing with notepad. Things that you might want to modify are crash dive - I put mine at 50m to keep me hitting bottom west of Brest. Depending on the sub you are driving, you may want to adjust the 'Ahead Slow' parameter in the .cfg file for that boat. For instance, if you lower the number, which is a decimal factor of Flank speed, you can get your RPM's under 100. At 100 RPM you are pretty much invisible to escorts in the stock game unless they drive right over you with active sonar. If you really want to build a super-sub that's high speed and ultra quiet then use SH3 inspector to set you electric RPM to 100. Then you can cruise around at maximum warp speed and be as quiet as a 688 class nuke-um boat! I also put Wolfie's tweek pac up there too, in case you hadn't found it. You can add extra torpedoes and have whatever type of eel that you want. Try all type I's in the front and Type V's in the back. Use SH3 to change the torpedo's speed. If you crank up the 'Impulse' factor to 3000 or 4000, you'll get some fairly good explosions without throwing the smaller ships up into the air. However, to do more actual damage to your targets, you'll need to use Time Travelers MinTweaker program. It's up there too along with the .txt files that you will need to use it. http://hosted.filefront.com/bobchase Go get'em & Have fun Bob |
