AA gun trouble and medal trouble

My fellow simmers,

Had nice patrol yesterday (6 merchants, 2 DD) which got me the VC and a new u-boat.
6 tubes front, 4 tubes back although i dont know the precise name. My AA gun is now surround by the iron of the cunning tower it is on. When planes come in at certain angles and heights i can aim my gun for them but then at a point I loose all visibility cause the iron fills up my screen. In other words my tower blocks my view.

How can I fix this?
My last boat (porpoise) didn't have this around the AA gun and i was pretty good at shooting planes down xD

One other question, why are the medals in the configuration file named Medal of honor, silver star, etc. While the medals i get are english medals (Submarine service, patrol star, victoria cross, wounded medal). I cant find these medals in any files so how come i dont have the american ones?

You're probably commanding a Gato-class. In my opinion, best thing to do is avoid enemy aircraft. It's just not worth the 50 renoun, to shoot down an enemy plane.

Second, find a crewmember that has a high gunnery rating and place him on your AA gun. If you're damaged or in shallow water and must confront an aircraft, he should be able to knock it down. But I try to hide from them. Actually, the only time I really use my AA gun is to sink Sampans.

As for your second question, someone else will have to bring their insight.
