Hi folks,

first of all I would like to explain the disaccord. Our community was thinking about a modpack which includes the best mods which are available for Silent Hunter 4. (Every mod like Trigger Maru, ROW etc.. is listed in the modpack. Furtheremore it is called a modpack and not a mod for itsself.)

We never mentioned to adopt the work others. You can see a note at the end of the trailer, where we list every single mod like trigger maru.

And no, we are not going to sell this "modpack" for money. This is really ridiculous..

The person in charge of this "pack", AOTD_Mad Max tried to contact Ducimus for legitimation and permission. Furthermore he sent Ducimus a Bug fix for tm and asked for cooperation.

I repeat it was never in our mind to adopt the work of others. In fact we tried to make an own interpretation of Trigger Maru. ( Modifying the ai, bigger instruments, includes more ships etc..)

It is really sad that the most of you think we were going to harvest the fame of others..This was never our intention...

We want to work with and for the community, not against it.

I do remember seeing that PM. I just didn't have time to look at the file and forgot to respond to it. I do in fact, get alot of PMs, and i dont respond to them all. I have entirely too much on my mind, Not in a community/mod sense, but in real world sense, so i don't take the time to read and respond to every PM i get. I have all i can handle already.

Permission to use the mod as a base was given publicly ages go in the original TM post. I guess up until this point, nobody ever thought i was serious. All i want, is to finish what im doing with it, so i can get out of the "modding scene" and move on. But i know i wont, until i finish what i started. I need that sense of closure. Id be done if it wasnt for patch 1.5. That opened alot of doors, now here i'm stuck again, again trying to finish what i started.

You guys do with it what you want, i've said that to everyone time and time again. I never wanted to be "famous", nor do i consider myself "famous". Im just a guy with an idea, and alot on his mind. I really don't need any drama.

Hello mates,

I tried to contact Duci at 03.03.2008 06:34 with an PM. But he allready mentioned that.
I asked for permission and i send him small bugfixes for TM.

This small bugfixes reworkes his AI subs and reworks his Narwhal-class.
If you use this small files your Narwhal is shown as Narwhal and not as Salmon at your Sub/Crewmanagement.

So first of all i wanne say that TM is a big mod wich includes so many small mods, made from the community for SH4.
Are these small mods like nomograph, ROW, 4blade-Propellors and any others only made for TM ?
No, they was made for for the community, for all SH4-user to make their game better and more realistic.

So we only make an modpack and modpack means that this is a pack of mods.
And the last thing I want to mention is that most of you didn´t read the Readme-files where all mods and modders are listed.


I hope that we all can work together to make SH4 better and more realistic and i hope that we didnt make war here like the dumb asses in real life.

Whe assumed that you get a lof of pms and so it is okay that you have not answered. As I mentioned we still hope that there is a chance for cooperation or at least for an exchange.

(edit: Seriously, you have no idea how much TM is taking now. Its grown entirely too big, i am only one person, and patch.s.. omg patchs.. PATCHS KILL ME. Supermods in the past grew on a stable, unchanging platform with a team of people actively owrking on it. TM grew on an unstable platfrom, with primarly just ME working on it. How many patchs have we had now? 5? Color me jaded, cause i am. )
well, I guess if the licence allowed it for your own use, ok. besides maybe they'll make somthing really good, that the SUBSIM COMMIUNITY can ENJOY in return.

but, it would have been nice for them to ask.

oh my god...! The SH3 models just don't live up to the level of quality of those from SH4. Gonna have to rework the VII model into 3dsmax... :hmm:

They did PM me. But, they didnt really need to.

As an aside, when i returned to subsim, i cleaned out my inbox. Anything in there was a month or two old. It's now back to 60. And in case anyones wondered, yes there are times when i intentionally do NOT clean it out. Kinda interesting when you get 6 emails from subsim notifying you that someone tried to send a PM but your box was full. :rotfl:

I think you mis-construed my motive.

The answer may be a "no, not at this point, we will have one once it is released". But that is merely an assumption as I clearly need to re-state my question.

Probably best if I wait until you release. The only German I deal with in RL is more interested in drinking beer and having a feed than translating game sites. Nice vid BTW.

AOTD Fall OF THE RISING SUN

HELLO
I see nothing wrong there.
As it is germans making this mod i hope they get uboat crew lanquage problem
fixed at least, also as many bugs as possible. Maybe tm, pe/row can use some
of they work also. Modders standing on shoulders of other modders, this is
how it should be. "use as you like" this is what i say of my mods.
If someone can use what you have made to make game better ,it is BETTER.
