Nope, I first noticed them at the start of a new patrol steaming North out of Surubaya in the German campaign. Thought it wierd seeing smoke littering the horizon at the start of the patrol and saw five separate ships aground. I can only hypothesise that they were scripted in some way to spawn there at the start of the mission rather than in the water.

It was ridiculous the siren of alarm of the American submarines in U-BOATS!!!
A serious flaw in my opinion. What do find? And the crew members' voices were horrible in English, they could have put the option of voices in German, to be more realistic. |

I think that this is an old bug, but I noticed Japanese crewmen and civilians on board a Liberty Ship that I sunk south of the Phillippines. The Jap sailors were manning the bow deck gun. I should have taken a screenie, but I didn't.
Also, I've been playing on "very hard" with 90%+ realism (I like my camera views) and the planes are waaaaay too easy to shoot down. Looking forward to installing the supermods for 1.5. I was happy to see that my first 4 German fish that I fired hit their targets at several thousand yards (I forgot to switch to Metric). I'm happy to see that I never lost my German TDC groove. ![]()

Bugs that I observed....
- Delay in the in almost all of the orders... and warnings... - One of the crew members that they are in the tower, is transparent" (the one on the left side), of the to see through him! - I already dove with the crew members in the machine guns and cannon, unassuming in the "vigil submerged!" - I went to the bottom because the crew members didn't repair a single damage... same existing all of the conditions for that.... They make a beautiful expansion exactly to see if it saves the game, putting U-boats but they leave everything as the Americans: the sirens... "COMSUPAC" or opposite of BDU.... (nor they changed the form of sending of messages!), they left the sounds in English.... and "the same voices of the Americans"... it was horrible!!! |

Hi all,
I'm new to SH4, used to play Silent Hunter Commander Edition (kind of a special release of SH1) a lot. I still keep the whole package. Decided to come back to the game, I've bought SH4+U-Boat Add on and installed it. I've downloaded Captain Midnights CBS NEWS Sound Mod, BBC_World sound mod and GreenLamp1.5 mod. I've decided on practicing a while before downloading SH4-ver15_TMO and RSRDC_V310_for_V15. 1. Game related question: when submerged and taking damage on the deck gun, why is the deck gun crew injured? I'm submerged, they are not suppose to be on deck? 2. Game crash: I've played the tutorial and the first two Patrol missions, difficulty level - 50. I keep getting game crashes at least one per mission, some times more. 3. Sound from radio problem: while playing the radio, now and then one of the added radio stations plays in a very fast pitch or very slow but not the original station (washington). Are any of the mentioned above problems related to the mods or are the mods verified as problems free? Last but not least,(not a bug) What happened to the calendar with sunrise and sunset times, and is there an option for weather reports ? an add on maybe? I followed most of the advices found on the forum, i.e latest drivers for my Radeon X800 and the onboard sound. clean install of XP pro, the CPU is P4 3G, M/B is Abit and I've installed 2GB of RAM. The only programs loaded besides hardware drivers are the HP PSC drivers and ZoneAlarm security suite. Have I missed something or is it normal game behaviour? Thanks in advanced. |

I had the orange arrowcircle locator both in the water and overhead in the sky. I saved the game in the open ocean and away from anytihng. When I reloaded the msn it was corrupt. It started out okay then 2 minutes into it the first officer starts repeating torpedo in the water over and over again till it stops responding and crashes. One thing of note is that I was playing Company of Heroes prior too playing SHIV1.5. Now I reboot the machine first and no problems.

Hello, I have a bug that I need some help with...
I recently started using SH4, after swithing from SH3 and going through what I thought was most of what I could get done in the game. Now upon downloading SH4 off of steam and running it at 1.3 without the U-boat expansion, the game ran without any issues and ran quite fast. I was able to run time compression at 8K with mods loaded and did so with no lagg at all, not even a single studder within the game at that compression setting. Now comes the problem, after installing the expansion and having the game up to 1.5 [through steam] I was able to run the game for about half of my third mission as a American commander in a Gar, based off of Pearl Harbor with time compression not being an issue, as with 1.3. Now, when I finished waiting for the patrol mission to "complete", I killed a few merchants and a destroyer in the area and set course for the harbor once again, as I had completed the patrol portion of the mission and got quite a few kills in. The time compression completely froze the game, I was barely able to get compression to 250X (or was it 252) without having the compression act so slow that the game basically froze, getting it to 1500X was nearly impossible and now the compression feature seems to be completely bugged. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the issue, my computer is not a problem, and as I said, I had this game running at max compression prior to version 1.5. I had the game running mod free, using high graphics setings (custom settings actually), but the graphics settings aren't an issue, I still have the game running smooth when not in compression. Either than this, it is the only slow-down I have faced in any application with this gaming rig, also never had a problem with steam. Thanks for any help you guys can offer, I really want to get this running again, it worked great before 1.5. My system is as follows: Intel iC7 920 (2.6Ghz) OC'd @3.4Ghz and stable for several months 8GB DDR3 OCZ Platinum Ram 500GB Western Digital Caviar Black HD / Secondary as 1TB Western Digital Caviar black (game is installed on the main, the 500GB) Windows Vista 64-bit BFG - Nvidia GTX280 OC (software version 62.0.1c) Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (bios version F6) Integrated sound (yeah I know, but I use a Sennheiser headset, so the card is more than good enough to get great sound) EDIT: I should also note, there is a significant increase in the number of hostiles appearing on my map after 1.5, could this be the root of the issue? Shouldn't the game attempt to NOT process non-essential information such as hostiles rather far from me? |

Hi, I'm new in this forum. I am playing SH series for some time now, SH4 v1.5 (single DVD with U-Boat missions add-on) just for few days. I have found these problems:
1) Sending message through "send status" to comsubpac gives me empty answer. My first problem was that I almost run out of diesel and I thought that I will be able to call a resuply ship or something in this way. I have tried it few times in different missions and always get the answer without a message text, just "From: comsubpac To: my_submarine" and no text. 2) When on the surface with no big waves, watchmen are disappearing for few seconds and then appearing back on the deck. When I check the watch efficiency in the crew management screen it is doing the same - going from let's say 80% down to 0% and back for few seconds. Don't like it. 3) Even if I have skilled watchmen with full efficiency I am able to see the ship with TBT when on surface a bit sooner than my watchmen. Especially in night. Moreover, when they see a ship they are most of the time saying "ship spotted" but without the bearing information. If there is a one ship on the horizon, they will say "ship spotted" many times in few minutes, but to find out bearing I have to search by myself (this maybe depends on watchmen skill, but still it has to be negative number to make a watchman so stupid) |

Hi all,
I've just read through this thread and no one seems to have had this problem. When I leave port, the radar works perfectly, detecting air and surface contacts. But if I man the radar station myself then go back to map, the radar no longer works. Planes are only spotted visually when they're right on top of me. I've tried switching it off/on changing sweep from single to continuous etc., but nothing will make it work. Has anyone noticed this and is there a fix other than reloading the game? Regards, Sven.

Whenever I start a campaign or mission with the type XVIII Walther boat the game crashes. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?
