There's several places that you can buy it as a download on the web. Ubisoft may take it off theirs to try and push SH IV, though don't see the other sites doing the same. Unless Ubisoft does the unthinkable and merges the two games (in their completeness) into one all encompassing subsim the final product isn't likely to be very realistic or have the same depth.

I agree that as far as the submarine warfare in the Pacific I've got minimal interest, if the two could be merged it would open up some opportunities for some fun stuff. (Such as) Your IXD2 (no others have enough range) is loaded with jet engines to be delivered to Japan in Tokyo Bay (a real life secret mission). Trying to get into Pearl Harbor would be a fun challenge plus participating in some of the major naval battles.

Ditto, can't run SH4 and even the addon doesn't have all the historical goodness and vessels, harbours, planes etc. that SH3/GWX has. When I upgrade I'll use SH4 to play some Pacific stuff but leave out the addon (though I might get it) and stick to GWX for my Battle of the Atlantic staple.

My computer simply can't handle SH IV and I'm not going to be able to afford a new one for the forseeable future so I'm staying with the Atlantic for now.

This computer can't even handle Shells of Fury which really surprised me (even though it fit the specs for the game. I have no clue why that game is such a processor/memory hog when SHIII has better graphics, more ships, better looking water, and nicer looking everything *shrug*).

For what I been reading in the SH4 Forum the 1.5 patch is for the add on and to correct a few more problems with the stock SH4, here is the stinker. You need to buy the add on to clear up those non add on problems. Seems to me that Ubi is not playing ball with those of us who are not interested in the add on like me.

Been playing SH4 since its release warts and all. I still run two installs of SH3, one with GWX 2.0, that is where I get my Atlantic U-boat fix.

Now having said that, who knows what the future may hold for an Atlantic Campaign in SH4. That is now possible but will it happen....I think so eventually.

The Fleet Boats are just awesome and their history makes the PTO a very exciting theater....my opinion of course.

Its a good time to be in Sub Simming!

This is well said , we have the best of both worlds/theatres, SH4, SH3 including GWX, and now the add on. Great time to be into this stuff.

Likewise.

Although I must admit, this is the closest I've come to really getting into playing SH4. It opens a lot of possibilities. And ofcourse, it looks stunning, especially with ROW.

But somehow... it just doesn't have that immersion. I'm enjoying myself, but I keep drifting off to the Atlantic of SH3.

And ofcourse the interface, but that has been said enough times.

GWX2.0 is a brilliant piece of work.

We all know what we want. Patience is virtue.

I ordered the add-on and waiting it. I will install it and give it a go.

SH4 is great and has a tremendous potential, but i'm still waiting something, let's say : a major mod, to really push forward. And now with the U-Boats, the door is even more open.

If we have something which have the quality of GWX, then it will be fantastic, no doubt !

But until that day, i will be happy with SH3 GWX
