I finally got my SH3 up & running, but now when I try to update it to 1.4b it it gives me "this program cannot be installed blah blah commands_de.cfg: unknown version.

Can somebody please help me? Maybe send his commands_de thingy?

Hae you got the right 1.4 patch version for your copy of SHIII? I'm sure there are different patch versions depending on if Europe or U.S.A copy of SHIII. :hmm:

Yes, there are different patches.. and iirc there are different ones for a DVD vs. a downloaded version.

Didn't work, and I did download every kind of 1.4b patch.
It always gives the same error message as said on the first post.

Are you sure you haven't purchased a disc version that already contains the patch

Load the game and check the bottom right corner of the main menu, the version number is there. If it says 1.4 you're sorted (as Jim said).

If not, see below.....

Nasty fix ahead!

Just delete the file the patcher is complaining about. It will be replaced after the patching process. Please note, this hack was usually only used with the help_en.txt (inc other languages), I've not heard of the commands.cfg issue before.

Well, I can see the 1.4 mark on the main menu.
But when I install the GWX 2, launch it, and here we go! Main menu is black and causes the HoM with the mouse.

And now I have no idea what to do.

*Edit*
Removed the commands_de just to see would it affect anything, tried to update.
And still it gives the same damn errormessage.

OK, your, off the disc, game is already patched to 1.4. That's good. However, I think that trying to use the seperate patch may have FUBAR'd your install.

I suggest a full uninstall/reinstall & a MD5 check of the GWX files.

Well, after reinstalling the SH3, I installed GWX 2 and I still get the HoM on the main menu.

There must be a file that changes the mainmenu, and I don't know wich one. It's probaly the great source of dark side!

Yeah, I know that I doudle-posted. But I've lost my patience with the SH3, and I'm about to start throwing it around if it doesn't start working with the GWX.

Perform a full uninstall via the game disc then reinstall following the instructions on the GWX website to the letter.
