Is the Dev. team aware of this problem?
When i look to the sun, it turns unstable (looks like the sun is a sticker over the sky) and can be seen glitches in the sun. I realized this in the Courageous single mission.

Its not a game bug its a problem with your video card, similar to the missing skydome polys (leaves black flashing triangles), it happens on ati radeon 9200/9700/9800 series and some newer nvidia cards like the 8800s.
Its something to do with the way the GPU renders distant polys not being all that precise, the sun is after all just a texture on a flat poly plane. Some folks have found that this is made worse when using the 16km visibility mod, there is no fix that i know of ![]() |

My graphic card is a Nvidia 7600GT....(with my older GF 6800GT i haven't got the problem with the stock SH3).

Do you have the latest drivers :hmm:
If that doesn't work, try d/l the krillersun mod from my FF account and see if that makes any difference. ![]() In presuming your playing GWX2.0, I can assure you it is not a fault of the mod ![]() |

It is also referred to as 'graphic tearing' which can be largely eliminated by enabling the "vertical sync" option in the in-game video options menu.

Sirkam, more FPS is better, but above around 20 FPS the human eye cannot distinguish any stuttering. Anything above 15FPS is probably still good enough to fool the casual observer.

I find the sun highly realistic. I like taking my binoculars and counting the sun spots on clear days. I've found that their numbers even match the historical records listed for sun spots.

@Sirkam
Do you get the "Black Thingys"? Fly straight up from sub and look at Horizon. If you see "Black Thingys" you need to get the fix. |
