Default Steal of a deal!!

so, im on my first partol in the black sea in a IID and come across a convoy with 3 escorts after AA-gunning two small fising boats (200 tons). so, i shoot the lead escort (2,000tons) first cause im a little trigger happy. perfect inder the keel shot. I look and wait for the other escorts to rush in...nobody...so i shoot the Chateram type troopship (5,000 tons) and sink her with the same method. so i have expended my 3 tubes and dive, expecting sombody to come after me....nobody (everybody's bust milling about in circles including the merchants). so I reload and come to periscope depth half expecting sombody to detect my acent but like before...NOBODY!! so i turn and shoot my last 2 eels off, sinking a small merchant (2,000 tons) and taking off a screw of a small tanker but not sinking her (i wanted more tonnage).

Well, all and all i felt as if i had my hand in the cookie jar and still hot away with it. Geesh, i musht have met up with the 3 worst escorts in the soviet navy (perhaps bernard was comanding the escort services)

Nice work!

As for the escort's ineffectiveness, it's probably par for the course. Being mostly a land power I don't think ASW was much of a Soviet forté in World War 2.

The Russian Navy didn't have much of a war, other than MTB boats on raids and minor successors, mainly due to the limited area that she had to defend coast wise (and having Japan act neutral didn't hurt either!)

It's not a reflection on the Navy itself, just on the limited area of operations they served in.
