guys thanks for the replies, i did however do everything by the book... (used to be an IT guy once upon a time).
i do however think somethings been left behind by the Omega unistaller probably a dll file and this has messed up the proper sapphire drivers for the card, the weird thing is its only the periscope view and external cam (underwater) as if the files for the scope view are running in low res with abit of transparency on it so i can see the sea either side of the scope or its interpretting them as such... just very weird. **** Update **** I've since cleaned out and installed the new ATI 8.1 drivers from the sapphire website the complete package inc ccc has the usuall "cant initialise the 3d engine" problems but there is also a hotfix (basically the 8.1 driver again) which when installed cures the problem (believe this to be the AGP problem others have reported). this version also cures the sunrise / sunset / moon rise / set issues i had before with my ATI 2600 HD card. Still have a problem with the periscope screen being transparent to a degree that i can see either side of the viewing circle and can see the sea / horizon line... any ideas?
