Good point.

You might also want to check out a book called Silent Victory. It's a big read at over 850 pages, but it gives you an idea of what is going on in the pacific submarine war.

It provided me with a new perspective on the game and makes what is going on more interesting as i know more of the history.... er i'm rambling

It's a good read
This was the first book on submarine warfare I ever read twenty odd
years ago and it sold me, it read better than fiction.

Defragment your fixed disk. Make sure you have some free space on the drive for swapfiles AFTER installation.

Get your registry in order.

Install the game, reboot, install the patch, reboot, enjoy

Then try some mods. Make sure the game is stable before applying mods.
