Through ROW I'll always remember his devotion as the greatest gift and example to us all.

Dave has reached the place we're all destined to be. While we're still here on this vast blue expanse, we'll continue where he left off. Now it's Dave's turn to rest with the entire sea his to roam. Some day all of us will join him, while others take our place. It is the cycle of such things, but that does not mean we don't take the time to remember who our comrades were, and the lives they have led as well as the lives they have touched. I grieve with his passing, but instead of reminding myself of his life's end, I think of what he has done in life, and being fortunate enough that he shared it with all of us here in this community of ours. We've lost one of us, but it's because of people like him, that we'll gain new comrades. And that was his final gift to us all.

I for one will drink to his life rather then his unfortunate passing.

Clear horizons and calm seas to you.

To Dave, Forever on patrol.

I never knew him, I just joined this forum shortly after he was hospitalized, but I love his work; it is absolutly beautiful and I can tell a lot of time and energy was put into making it and maintaning it. R.I.P. Dave, I wish I could have met you, it's obvious that everyone hear loved you and I'm sure that I would have too.

Default Heaven Awaits

Psalm 23
The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for your are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Dave our prayers are with you, and I know you are with the Lord. You will be so sadly missed by everyone at SubSim.

What a shock, he would have to have been the biggest modder for SH4, a great loss.
Rest In Peace.

I had such HIGH hopes that this day would not come. At his young age I was sure he would pull through.

R.I.P Dave. You will be missed greatly.

I just popped in here to see if there was any subsim news but this wasn't the news I expected or wanted to read.

So sorry to read of this loss, all the best to his family and friends.

R.I.P. maestro, and thanks for all you have given us.

R.I.P Dave. I am so very sorry for your friends and family.
Thank you for the picture. It is nice to be able to put a face with the name.
Somehow, my signatures O'Kane quote comes to mind.

Respectfully Submitted;

Do you like the new density to it or should I say darkness of it?

Would like some input about it seeing you all have it right now.

Thanks ahead of time and again Merry Christmas everyone!

Dave

P.S. from the looks of it aside from a couple of minor adjustments the testing of the new ocean and sky work is a good to go thing so there should be a new download for it in a day or so.

Be ready for some ruffer sea's in the higher wind state's and some better reflection effect's.
I was reading through this thread and I got a lump in my throat when I discovered that Dave's last post was on Christmas Day. His final words were to wish us all a Merry Christmas.

Also I wonder what this "new download" had in store for us. I cant help but think it is like Schuberts Unfinished 8th symphony which is considered one of his true masterpieces.

You were the maestro of the mods Dave. R.I.P.

Very appropriate, great job Doolittle.

I am sending this to Francisco, let him know how we feel.
While you're at it, Torps, confirm the mailing address and I'll send him something on behalf of the Subsim skippers, ok?

Also, I've made a copy of Mush's sig salute, slimmed it a little, and I can host it here, so anyone who wants to use it, feel free.

Neal
Thanks Neal I appreciate it, that seemingly simple three minute job
took almost an hour and a half due to some upload issues with my
photo site. As I was working I was a little short on finishing time.
thanks again.
