Default RSRD + RFB Manual TDC Only?

Hi all and pardon me if this is a dumb question but I'm running RSRD with RFB and when I start a campaign I seem to be stuck with Manual TDC. It does not seem to make a difference what realism settings I choose. I have set the campaing to Normal Difficulty. Do you have to run a Manual TDC if you run these Mods? I'd like to start out a bit slower

Thanks,

Kevin

Ok, let me answer my own question here. I took a look a look at the CFG folder and found the file GameplaySettings.cfg and noted that it was modified by RFB. It has the following settings:

[Easy]
LimitedBatteries=true
LimitedCompressedAir=true
LimitedO2=true
LimitedFuel=true
RealisticRepairTime=true
ManualTargetingSystem=true
NoMapUpdate=false
RealisticSensors=true
DudTorpedoes=true
RealisticReload=true
NoEventCamera=true
NoExternalView=false
NoStabilizeView=true
MPShowPlayerNames=true
MPShowTorpedoes=true
RealisticShipSinkingTime=true
[Normal]
LimitedBatteries=true
LimitedCompressedAir=true
LimitedO2=true
LimitedFuel=true
RealisticRepairTime=true
ManualTargetingSystem=true
NoMapUpdate=false
RealisticSensors=true
DudTorpedoes=true
RealisticReload=true
NoEventCamera=true
NoExternalView=false
NoStabilizeView=true
MPShowPlayerNames=true
MPShowTorpedoes=true
RealisticShipSinkingTime=true
[Hard]
LimitedBatteries=true
LimitedCompressedAir=true

NoMapUpdate=false
RealisticSensors=true
DudTorpedoes=true

NoEventCamera=true
NoExternalView=false
NoStabilizeView=true
MPShowPlayerNames=true
MPShowTorpedoes=true
RealisticShipSinkingTime=true
[RealismPercentage]
LimitedBatteriesRealismPercentage=8
LimitedCompressedAirRealismPercentage=9
LimitedO2RealismPercentage=9
LimitedFuelRealismPercentage=9
RealisticRepairTimeRealismPercentage=9
ManualTargetingSystemRealismPercentage=17
NoMapUpdateRealismPercentage=0
RealisticSensorsRealismPercentage=8
DudTorpedoesRealismPercentage=8
RealisticReloadRealismPercentage=8
NoEventCameraRealismPercentage=7
NoExternalViewRealismPercentage=0
NoStabilizeViewRealismPercentage=8
MPShowPlayerNamesRealismPercentage=0
MPShowTorpedoesRealismPercentage=0
[MiscSettings]
AlwaysAutotargeting=0,0,0,0,0;for warships, merchants, uboats, air and land targets

Note that for all levels, ManualTargetingSystem=true is set. All I had to do to disable the manual TDC was to change ManualTargetingSystem=true to ManualTargetingSystem=false. for a given skill level.

I do wish to use the manual targeting system in the future but for right now I want to play the game for a bit without it.

thanks,

Kevin

No, you don't have to run manual targeting.

However, since it is the default setting, you will need to ensure you turn it off before starting any campaigns, patrols, or missions. This can be done after you select your the mission/patrol by changing the realism settings.

For a career, once you get to the office screen, move the mouse to the bookshelf that has the save game/load game books. There's also a section on the shelf that diplays "options" when the mouse passes over it.

Click on that, select gameplay settings in the next window and change your settings there.

Alternatively, you can manually edit the gameplay settings like you did.
