As a former employee of EBGames, I can tell you what most likely happened. A less-than-honest customer pulled a fast one on a clueless employee by bringing back a PS3 box with a phone book inside and exchanging it most likely for cash. The employee should have opened the box and checked for anything fishy, but instead he/she probably taped it up and put it in the back room with the rest of the used consoles waiting to be sold. When our unfortunate subjects showed up to buy the console, they opted to save a few dollars by going with the used PS3, which was really just a phone book.

That reminds me years ago of a joke about a boy who wanted a Action Man and all he gets is a empty box and is told he got a Action Man deserter.

You know, how did that little girl feel when she got this in the box? I wonder what the idiot who did this would have thought when he or she was a little kid expecting something in a box only to receive a stupid note. Note says to read a book. It is called making a good mix of things. I read before I go to bed every night. Such idiots out there.
