I'm pretty sure you can change the crash depth in the files. Nice for gaming, but again real life intrudes. A normal dive meant filling the ballast tanks to the neutral bouyancy level and using the planes to dive the boat. A crash dive meant flooding them all the way, which meant that they had to be pumped out again on the way down, which meant that 70 meters was pretty much what you were looking at when you did a crash dive.
