I did let the game install 9.0. I will try to see if I have the latest drivers for my intel vid card. I know I have the latest sound drivers. Isn't it kinda strange though, that it lets me start the game, and see 2 of the screens, but nothing else? Thanks for the help so far. I don't have any viruses, or anti virus software running.

Exactly what model of video card is in there? I'll bet that is key to the problem. The "128mb (I think)" sounds like a potential deal-killer.
I just went to Gateway for a visit and it is as I feared. The video is on-board and the "Up to 256MB Shared Video Memory" is using your system RAM. This just won't run Silent Hunter 4. You do have a PCI-e slot for a video update. Our experience is that the lowest graphics you should consider (in nVidia anyway) is the GeForce 7600GT card.
