I dont expect another patch but heres something that needs fixing: I sustained some battle damage and had to surface, got the report that we were out of fuel. Never got a report of any kind about a fuel leak, and nothing on the damage screen. A fuel leak is something the engineer would usually discover, I think, and report to the captain, Not having this information puts us at a distinct disadvantage. Joe S

OH! A new gauge needed!!~!!
All rise! Salute! Admiral Lockwood entering the room. Admiral, this is Commander Joe S with a whine......I mean request for you sir. Could you read the following and help (

![]() ![]() OK, right beside the hydrogen gas percentage gauge, the food gauge, the underwear gauge, the conning tower rust gauge and the hull damage percentage gauge, we'll put yer fuel leak idiot light, yanked from the dashboard of a '37 DeSoto. What do you think idiot lights are for??? IDIOTS! That's who. Submarines are captained by highly trained men who take responsibility for their boat and their crew. When the situation goes south they do not blame their boat. They do not blame their crew. And do you think they might check their fuel levels a couple times a day? ![]() The game ain't supposed to hold your hand and give you warm milk and cookies, Commander, and neither will I. Screw the pooch one more time like that, put 70 officer's and men's lives in danger because your mommy didn't tell you you had a fuel leak or you don't have enough underwear for your crew, or you ran out of food and the torpedomen didn't tell you and you'll be skipper of that garbage scow outside the window. And I assure you, this base won't run out of garbage, because I'M IN CHARGE HERE. Dismissed! ![]() How'd it go Commander Joe? Did he give you a medal for your suggestion's help with the war effort? The admiral was in a real good mood earlier this morning, I sure hope he appreciated your suggestions.... I wish you wouldn't puke in the waste cans...

The admiral
You just caught the admiral on a bad day. He's like that a lot since he ran out of Preparation H. But he IS the admiral and we all have to tow the line. And he DID get those lousy torpedoes fixed and gave us the green light to shut off those @#$@#% magnetic exploders.
And even worse news: that vomit in the waste can is going to stink up my garbage scow. If he relieves you of command, I'm out of a job. ![]()

Just because Admiral Lockwood has his panties in a wad doesn't mean nobody can help Joe! I won't tell the Admiral, honest!

RR aside, yes one would hope that the engineer would advise of a fuel leak. Not only that, but the large oil slick forming miles behind your boat, aircraft following it in, as well as, warships would be a sure indication that there is a fuel leak. Not to mention the smell would be unmistakable. At any rate, the devs did not address this issue. Furthermore, there are saddle tanks where one could be leaking and the other unaffected. They also used the tank that was filled with water that helped with trim and also helped in quicker dive times. These are not modelled as well. This brings us to the issue of fuel consumption and not having enough within the game to travel at 15 kts like the real submarines did. Just an ugly snowball effect going on here. At any rate, I do not believe there is a work around for this. The best fix right now is prevention of getting holed.
