For the moment untill JSCones decides to release his markings set do the following:
roll back sh3 commander, open the directory where sh3 commander is installed, do a search for markings, you should end up with a list of 37 directories named markings, select and delete them.

I did a complete un-install of both SH3 and SH3 Commander, deleted all the involved directories, and then did the full SH3/1.4 patch/GWX 2.0/SH3 Commander 2.7 install, along with the SH3 Commander files for GWX 2.0. Alles in Ordnung!

I started a fresh new career, with the same flotilla, and started out in Sept 1939 again from Wilhelmshaven.

The Tirpitz is visible on my maps!

I did NOT see a freighter in the dock as I left the harbor, so the stalled burning freighter I saw previously may be one that arrives while you are on patrol? Is that possible?

Default Small issue with gramaphone music

The gramaphone music installed with GWX 2.0 has some songs playing in 1939 that did not exist, like "Johnny Got a Zero". That was not a popular song until after Pearl Harbor, sometime in 1942.

I deleted all the GWX 2.0 and stock SH3 gramaphone files, since I use a 495Meg collection of songs I have accumulated and sorted into the proper years and months, and SH3 Commander randomly selects them for me based on the date of the patrol.

This avoids hearing songs from, say 1943, played as my patrol starts in Sept. 1939. Being a bit of a music buff, this is an important realism aspect for me.

You play the mod as you prefer

My gramaphone has music from the era as well as pre and post period

I deleted all gramophone tracks from the folder and i replaced it by the original game music, the ingame menu music , crimson tide navy himn , and the das boat movie soundtrack.
when i need silence, for example during depth charge attacks i swith off the gramophone.

with this system i have in game music and i can hear the destroyers before lauch ashcans.

Cool! I have put the Das Boot soundtrack and Crimson Tide in my gramophone too among other things.
