New Sub Command???

I Have been Playing SH4 on and off for a couple of months I recently installed RFB 1.3?? (whatever berry's latest is just DL'd 2 days ago) and I have the 1.3 patch, I have had 5 succesful Missions with the S-class, after ythe forth I was Promote to Commander, and after the 5th I was offered another promotion and to teach at sub school (which I declined) I was then told I lost renown (I can understand that) but I still have not been offered a new class (present date is April 42 Asiatic fleet) I have never received one Medal nor Has my crew been offered a single medal. I s this normal ??

By the way the current patch is 1.4

Yea I tried 1.4 it does not work with RFB, it screwed evrything up so I just went back to 1.3 with RFB, I E-mailed Berry about the 1.4 issue with RFB but he has not responded.

Thank you elder Pirate for that update I will try it later and let you know how it worked, still if anyone else has any info tht could be helpfull please post I have now finished my 6h Patrol with the old S-Boat succesfull with alot more tons sunk still no medals for me or crew and no new boat

just 1 promotion for my crew.

What I'm seeing here are two things. Duci set up that you are retired after 5-6 patrols like it was done during the war or you have not been completing your missions. In the stock game, you can sink the entire Japanese fleet and merchants but it you are not completing the missions assigned, you are retired. So, are you completing the missions?

I Just Reloaded sh4 with 1.4 and RFB 1.31 with the patch for RFB to use on 1.4 via this link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=125529 provided to me by elder-pirate (I had previously tried using RFB 1.31 with 1.4 and had a failure) this time it went all the way to the point where you begin your patrol and as the sub started to load I get the same error as before in the same place "Menu ID no form 0x31020001" and its never ending so much for that patch, I know i have seen this problem in the forums before and did a search but all that was said was ... well got the game working (yeah for you) no mention of how. so back to sh4 1.3 and RFB 1.31 and still go on wondering why I can't receive medals or a new ship btw all the mods in this order that I am using in case anyone is wondering

placed in that order

Did you go to port first ? Close game, disable all mods via "JSGME", install patch 1.4 then "able" all your mods via JSGME. If you are not using JSGME then you need to delete SH4 off HD and reinstall then install 1.4 then the mods you want. But your previous saves will no longer be playable.

Page two SH4 patch 1.4 readme:
Note 1: The save games and replays that were made with the original version of Silent Hunter 4 or with Silent Hunter 4 patch 1.1 to 1.3 will be incompatible with the new patch version.

Note 2: In Base autosaving are compatible with original version, patch 1.1, patch 1.2 and patch 1.3.

Since you've already put a lot of miles on SH4 it would probably be best to shut off the Internet and clear every thing you can that's running in the background, delete SH4 "Then" Defrag your computer ( bet you have a lot of red? ), reinstall SH4, install 1.4, able all your mods via JSGME and get ready to kick some butt and maybe you'll now get those medals and new subs but in order to do that you MUST complete your missions to the tee or the Admiral just may give you a desk job.

Okay here is where I am at I deleted it all, I was not using JSGME I just dropped all the mods into the file, So now I have a vanilla copy of SH4 I then placed the 1.4 patch, I then used JSGME to load RFB_1.4_for_stock_RC1, (as I found from another string that I was using the wrong RFB mod) and lastly DialsGatoCT_Fix_14 also placed in using JSGME. Drum roll please... it worked SO... I started another asiatic campaign again with the good old S-36 I have now completed 1 patrol (exactly 1 month at sea) with only two kills thanks to duds I think it was something like 10,500 tons and a total renown of 2014 and i return to port and ... my crew receives 4 promotions no medals, I receive no promotion or medals, so now I am off to try a second patrol, so I guess you might say the jury is still out. obtw I did do the clean install with the defragging and all.

The point is that your 1.4 with the mods you want are working. Good job.

Don't get "Medal" happy though for it may take a few patrols to get them and a bunch of tonnage.

Yup thats what I'm saying, and I just finished a second patrol that was better than the first and I got a bronze star (that showed up as a weird looking purple heart in the box ??) my crew is still S.O.L. though on the medals thing, though I have noticed two additional unusual things, 1.) the camera swivel in the home port office no longer works (can't change options) 2.) no longer needs dvd in pc to play the game (not that that is bad) anyone expiriance this ???

See where finger on hand is pointing? Click where cursor is and you have options.

Patch 1.3 ended the DVD in tray. ( How long have you been out to Sea? :hmm:
