One could always look at the .mis files and check out the exact shipping routes, but the paper map seems to be a pretty good guideline to the routes, even if it's not entirely accurate with RSRDC. During patrols I have noticed that the paper map is somewhat accurate at least what comes to the following routes:
If the patrol area is somewhere in the western Pacific, then one will almost always run out of torpedoes because of crossing at least two of these routes. Especially in 1943 those seem to be some kind of troopship highways. If you're after tankers, then Korea Straits is a good place, and also the middle part of the Yellow sea. Just beware of the hordes of fishing boats in the Korea straits area. I bagged over 20 during my last patrol, with the biggest "fleet" measuring over 10 boats ![]() |

nah i thinks its more fun not knowin where the shippin lanes are. i mean skippers wouldnt be handed a map with that info would they
whenever i get sent to the gilberts or marianas its really hard to find targets whereas of the SE coast of japan u can regularly find convoys passin each other |

Perhaps rather than a deffinitive map with all the shipping lanes marked for the whole war, the map could take the form of a more general sort of intel report, just giving clues of Japanese shipping activity. General areas, maybe based on a period map. :hmm:
I'm sure USN sub skippers must hae been given some sort of intelligence report of where ONI expected enemy shipping activity to be, before they where sent on patrol.

Terribly sorry if someone has asked this question, but the thread is rather long.
Is this mod now setup for 1.4? If so, can someone give me a link to installation instructions to use RSRD with ROW? Thanks.

Just that i understand it:
When I'm running a campaign with this mod and TM 1.7.2, i get only Merchant Traffic and no more Task Forces in the campaign? The Task Forces are only modelled till mid 1942 ? |
