Default Please be patient

Guys, there are a few posts around asking what mods are compatible with 1.4, and complaining that 1.4 is too frustrating or broken and that some members are therefore going back to 1.3.

Please understand that the only mods compatible with 1.4 are the mods listed in Bill's '1.4 Compatible Mods' thread. People trying to run ROW mods do so at their own risk. Dave has made it very clear that ROW is not yet compatible with 1.4 and that he has a lot of work to do to make it compatible. He's recovering from surgery and needs to take things easy.

We have a great new patch, and given a little time, we'll have a whole assortment of great mods to work with the patch, but for right now, chill out and reintroduce yourselves to your families....some of whom may not have seen you since 1.3.

I'll second this Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I don't remember this happening from 1.2 to 1.3. There is really no need for the frustration and confusion, there is a 1.4 Compatability Thread, folks just need to check it and wait as new mods will be made, and older ones fixed to run with 1.4

I'll third this!.....WAIT until the dust settles or you just might be setting yourself up for some big-time frustration.

I'm not going to get near 1.4 untill EVERTHING is ready to go..

In the mean time i'll sit tight with 1.3 and continue to reek havoc and carnage upon the jap merchant fleet.

Yes, I have edited the known mods that will work or have been reworked for the 1.4 found in the compatible 1.4 mods thread. Most have been used by me and found to be fine. Apparently there have been quite a few changes in the new patch and the modders need to sort them out. Do what I did, load up what you see and like in the 1.4 mod thread, go sink some vessels. When you get back to port you will have new construction (mods) that work with 1.4

Concur, there is heightened level of frustration around here in regards to 1.4, I cannot put my finger on it....I got my butt chewed off on another thread because I was a bit to concise in pointing out that I had not "seen that happening" in my particular install and game play.....OUCH!

I did PM and apologize profusely. I am always suspect of my posts now. Drinks on me!

At the very least, if people want to go mod-crazy with 1.4, do so with the knowledge that things may not go quite as expected, and certainly not as they went with 1.3. If things turn out to be FUBAR'd, don't go blaming Ubisoft, the patch devs, the modders or anyone - anyone - but yourself. Be an adult, realize you experimented at your own choice, and just deal with it (reinstall or whatever).

I started throwing mods at 1.4 within about an hour of it's release - just to see what did seem to work, or not. I had copied my entire 1.3 installation to another drive first, as well as all my user SH4 folders. So I jumped on 1.4 just to enjoy the ride :p And yes, I did end up doing a couple of clean installs because of it (but I'd pretty much expected that).

You play with fire, you get singed a bit - but you don't run around crying about it.

Don't let it get you down guys, human nature is to be impatient. No excuse there though, you guys always do a great job and work hard in your spare time making a good game great.

I think I can speak for everyone here we really appreciate all that you do, it means alot. I don't know how difficult it is to actually do all that you do but I'm sure it takes up time, which is no doubt important to you. Again, just a thanks for your time and effort.

Default It takes time to make a fine Wine

And we will sell no wine until it's time!

Even a good Wiskey isn;t really good till it is 15 years old.

Just be glad it dosn't take that long to make compatable mod's!

Deconstructing what the patch did and changed and then makeing mod's compatable from that information takes time.

We are all children when it comes to our games we love even a 60 year old becomes a teenager again when it comes to waiting for the things they want in the game.

Work is being done for all of you and the mod's. Things will be posted when they are ready you will not be kept out of the modding loop.
