You can easily get huge elevations fast by first raising the barrel to approximately the right elevation while in the "just the crosshair"-view, and then switcing to the sight view to do fine-adjustments. No more scrolling for two minutes to get the desired range

You can change elevations when looking through the site faster by holding down the shift key while changing the elevation with the cursor key. Consider horizontal movement with the cursor a coarse adjust and the mouse a fine adjust.

Have you tried using the mouse wheel? That seems to make more rapid range adjustments on my rig - might be worth a try.
