Sequels in movies and games - I am sick of it

Talking about being dissapointed with the first bond movie makes no sense to me, surely you go into Casino Royale already knowing the story! it's an old book.... we already know what happens.. Duh. I thought it was a great interpretation of the original story, what a start too, no rockets or silly stuff, just super stunts and great filming.
I agree with the other stuff though, for a game to just end open and un-finished is like a slap in the face, yes it is nice to carry on the franchise but can't it be done as a complete and satisfying chapter, kind of like a old (black and white) flash gordon movie, you go to see the movie because you love the content but each and every movie is an end to its self.
That is why I like the silent hunter programs, you can play away for ever, each night is different and depending on your mood the way you play can change, if you want to be a risk taker then off you go, or on the other hand do the same scenario as a cold cunning killer with all the time in the world. I tried the Call of Duty game and you can vary somewhat but when push comes to shove the thing is quite predictable... and what is with winning the darn game and no balloons? Just over, I would have thought they could have wrapped it up more satisfying.
Thanks for the thought provoking thread guys. And how about something with a better royal navy presence, I love my adopted country but it would be nice to run an old "T" class sub or run a Leander class frigate from the 70's chasing a ruskie sub!
