Had one of the first NES consoles way back when through a trial type program. Games were hard to find back then, so I ended up selling it, light gun, and gyro robot as well for about $130. I didn't sell it before I put countless hours on Super Mario Bro's though.

And Nintendo still makes a mint off these old games. You can even buy them for the Wii now through their online service.

NES games emulated on the Wii? That's funny, I wish old PC games would always work on newer operating systems so well but that is a different sotry.

I wonder what is the price for a single NES game for Wii, or are they sold bundled in packs of 3 or more games?

Ok lets please steer away from the "emulation scene" discussion as it is technically not legal (even if you previously owned the games and did not sell them, the legality of that is very gray indeed.) unless the game has been officially released by the license holder as a form of freeware. Last i checked the copyrights had not expired for any video game ever made yet (I believe the copyright lasts in the neighborhood of 50 years or something to that effect).

Was a big adventure gamer. Still have copies of Police Quest 1, 2, 3, and (alas) 4, Liesure Suit Larry III, and a few others. All time favorites were the Quest for Glory games. Have all of them, replay them about once every two years or so.

Have very fond memories of Deja Vu for NES. Wasteland for PC was another favorite, as were the old SSI 'Gold Box' games...especially the ones using the Buck Rogers license.

Anyone remember SEAL Team?

the game that got me into SH3 was Silent Service II on my amiga, i still love that game. every so often i dig out my emulator and play it. class indeed. gone are the days of my beloved amiga however, she sits forlorn in the cupboard dreaming of happier days when lemmings exploded, strange blue putty fought numerous animated food items and saddam felt the might of my power through the apache gunship.

*sigh*

A couple I've been playing recently:

Police Quest 1-4
Sam and Max
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

and Maniac Mansion.

My entire family couldnt complete that when I had it for Commodore. Thats about 12 years, and no-one could. Bastard of a game.

I still have an Atari 2600 and an NES. I also have a Sega Genesis but I dunno if that's old enough for this discussion. My atari controllers don't work so good and the hookup cables are a mess. I can usually get the NES to work by blowing into the console or cartridges LOL, classic.

Don't really play them anymore because they don't work so good, but every now and then I seem to 'rediscover' them and enjoy myself for an afternoon.

I like Close Combat series (3-5) 5 was too easy though. 3 is timeless!
