SOUTHWORTH, Wash. - A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, Kitsap County sheriff's deputies said.

He would have had to injure himself about 12 inches higher and more centrally to qualify for the Darwin Awards :p

What on earth did he think he would achieve by blasting the nuts (no pun intended) with a shotgun?
