single missions are usually harder than the campaign as its a challenge

Searchlights turn on when the ship detects an enemy

Dont forget when the Sharnhorst mission is set the warships have radar

When Scharnhorst and Gneisenau sank HMS Glorious, The carrier force was visually spotted at 40 kilometres (21.6 nm), fire was opened at 26,000 metres (28,446 yards) and the longest hit ever recorded was at 24,175 metres (26.450 yards), all on June 8, 1940.
