Without being too specific (don't want to spoil it for ya), the last stage. I opted for the two deck guns myself but never fired either one. Just completed the war in current career so we'll have to try again next time.

One thing about those AA guns - I like to keep a Twin 20 for rate of fire. The 40 packs a punch but at a slower rate of fire.

Good hunting!

That's a good point on the 20 for ROF, I loaded up 40s cause bigger bang is a good thing but sometimes more bang is a good thing... what's that saying "Quantity over Quality has a class of it's own" or something like that

It's not the size, it's how you use it!

Too bad I only hear this come from other guys. I'd love to hear a woman say it and not laugh after. I agree with keeping one of the twin 20's though. It's nice to have one gun with a high rate of fire.

Balao

You are lucky. After my 5th patrol from the beginning of the war I moved from Porpoise to Gato. I only had a Balao on single missions.
Women always say: "it is not only the equipment or size what it is important, the important thing is to know how to use it".:rotfl: Good Hunting

I believe I've been offered a Balao for every captain that has continued to 1943/1944. Never noticed when exactly.

And then there is the more maritime appropriate, "It's not the size of the boat, it's the motion of the ocean."

In my case, I have starded from the beginning of the conflict at Pearl.
Approximatively at my fifth mission, I received a new sub; my base was always Pearl.
And for my tenth one, I got a balao, at the beginning of the 1943 year. My new base is in Australia.
