The P-43 didn't see much service period. A handful made it to China (very far from water):
 If there were more than a dozen in coastal areas where any submarine might ever see them during the entire war I'd be surprised. They'd be better off in the roster as Italian Re 2000s which are somewhat similar looking planes. (the Re 2000 was based upon the P-43's predecessor, the P-35)
