Weather not working

Is this weather constant or are you just saying that you have overcast sky, rough sea but no rain? I have this at the moment on my patrol, after days of heavy rain and thunder though. Weather in SH3 can last for days even weeks without changing. I read somewhere that the game only checks the weather every 11-12 hours of game time (not real time) and then it has only a 1 in 6 chance of changing. Like rolling a dice and the weather changes only when the six comes up. However, it needs to be remembered that the weather clock is reset to the beginning every time you save and reload a patrol.

I believe there is a mod that improves on the weather in SH3, but I haven't tried it myself.
