This is not going to come out for quite a while, if you ask me.
Just FYI, as a lot of people seem to not be aware of, there is a very good, mature sim about the Battle of Britain, and no matter how good SoW is going to become, it's hard to imagine that it will surpass BoB2 in every aspect, especially the strategic level / AI. Recently I wrote a thread about exactly this game: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122851 And here are some links if you are interested; http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/forum/index.php

Bob II is great, BUT the sometimes jerky flightmodel of the AI and lack of pilot career ruins the experience for me (yes, I know one can only fly one squadron etc. etc. but it's not the same thing). Besides, Storm of War is going to be like IL2, loads of expansions. Hundreds of flyable planes.

Both games have their strengths and weaknesses. I for myself could never enjoy IL-2 for the cartoonishness of the graphics, and BoBII is everything I ever wanted in that respect. AI and campaign are two other important areas for me, where BoB2 plays in a different league, compared to IL-2. Just a few days ago I compared the two games side by side, and the longer I played IL2, the more problems came to light, whereas with BoB2 I tend to discover more and more nice surprises.
My criticism of IL-2 is of course highly subjective, all I am saying is that while people are desperately waiting for SoW, the "other" game might be worth a second look, and the waiting might become much easier you know. After many years in development it's in a supreme state, whereas SoW is not even out yet.

I hope they improve the campaign, interface and sounds in SoW: BoB. IL2 was really lacking in those.

For me the most important thing to improve is the terrain. It really ruined everything for me in IL-2.

What i dont understandt is why oleg choose to do yet ANOTHER battle of britain sim. The battle of britain has been done do death by now.. I dont understand that the company,s that still make real sim,s dont make another sim based on the b-17 and b-24 bombing campaign . Every time they seem to pick the battle of britain over and over again while acutally the bombing campaing and later air war over europe offers so much more. I mean comeon its been 12 years since b-17 the mighty eight and on-one for some reason has done a b-17 sim ever again .

Cliffs does have bombers, but not the heavies - and the only flyable medium is the He-111 iirc. I know what you mean and it would've been great to see those incorporated at some point in the future to this sim, and I'd have preferred an expansion of the map to include all parts reached by these rather than head off toward the Soviets. Why BoB? I don't know, maybe they saw shooting down a few people in an aircraft, or dropping bombs on military targets better publicity than wiping out residential areas.
Hang on, got it! Air combat over water will use much less resources than a whole city or ten and seeing as it's not very well optimised (just yet) for even that they'll just have dismissed a large scale bombing campaign. ![]()

I dont understand why but it seems all the company,s avoid the heavies for some reason , which is strange becaus if done well it could really be succesfull title.
