Relax Ven

Myxale has it right. This res fix even has an uninstall option.

You are not going to overwrite anything at all.

When you are changing the resolution aspect in the cfg, make sure you add a screenshot path as well.

FYI @ ALL

This res fix can be used while in game. Just minimise SH3, change the cfg and then return to game.

Really don't know why people try to use MSACT when this version is available.

Place it in there,

Run the SP2 RES fix.bat.
Open the d3d9 config choose your res and save!

Thankyou for your comment I will have a go (glup)

Thankyou Danlisa for bringing this version to my attention ,I'm glad I made the adjustments the new quality is just gob smacking awsome !

@ JCWOLF

In the downloaded archive you have:

d3d9.cfg
Readme.txt
SHIII.sdb
SP2 Rez Fix Uninstall.bat
SP2 Rez Fix.bat

Copy ALL of these into the SH3 Program Folder.

1) Run SP2 Rez Fix.bat
2) Then open d3d9.cfg & set the resolution & screenshot path.

That's it, your finished.

Default JCWolf

Did you get the fix called SH3_XPSP2_Res_Fix_for_1.4b.zip or the two file "fix"?

The proper fix has 6 files in it, including d3d9.cfg, if you need it you can get it at my FF. http://hosted.filefront.com/TheJhereg/

Then in d3d9.cfg just edit the resolution section as Wolfehunter stated above after you run the install.bat.

JC The path can be whatever you want it to be!

Its where you want your screenies to go!

I made the path be my SH3 directory
here an example!
"C:\Programme\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII"

Keep in mind they will come as TGA and will not be displayed by the standart Wind pic viewer!
You need a programm that views TGA'S

Cheers Matrose!

Yep, anywhere you like.

Example:

C:\My Documents\My Pictures

Just put your choice in the cfg. I always use the default SH3 Program folder.

PrtScr to capture.

OK just a question more?

This is the cfg as I have it now!

;
; DX9res Settings
; by Kegetys <kegetys@dnainternet.net>
;
; Note that this config is reloaded on device reset, so you can task switch out
; of the game, change settings from this file and then return
;
[config]
; ResX: Horizontal resolution setting
; ResY: Vertical resolution setting
; useFiltering: Use linear filtering for UI elements
; enableScreenshots: Hook printscreen keypress to save TGA screenshot
resX=1280
resY=1024
useFiltering=1
enableScreenshots=1
screenshotPath=C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII
[gamma]
; setGamma: Override gamma ramp
; gammaRed: Red channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
; gammaGreen: Green channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
; gammaBlue: Blue channel gamma (1.0 = normal, decrease to add brightess, increase to darken)
setGamma=0
gammaRed=1.0
gammaGreen=1.0
gammaBlue=1.0

The question is,

the ( in here

; enableScreenshots: Hook printscreen keypress to save TGA screenshot

is it not disabeling the screenshots?

Some how after just read the Dan, above post I will try the
key Print screen cause the normal CTRL F11 doesn't work...

Don't worry it's just a comment, and says that the Print key takes pics.

Tt had to be disabled with ";" so the line is not read by the program!

The "old " screen button F11 is disabled with this Res Fix as are some other.

Relax JC and enjoy!

Not with the rez fix.

But, don't you have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro?

BTW, there is a TGA windows plugin to view as thumbs. Very Handy.
http://greggman.com/pages/thumbplug_tga.htm

Really cool as you can view all SH3 Textures without opening a program.

You'll like it JC.

For those who do not have I reccomend Irfanview, it's free (or it used to be), displays pictures, plays sounds (even ogg) with a thumbnail index, just click on the icon to play sound or view picture.
