Problem is a limited Z-Range. if one increases the clipping distance more space becomes available for the rest of the scene because near stuff gets clipped. i've slightly reduced the clipping distance on the interior cams to let the camera get nearer people and objects before they get clipped. i thought the slight flickering was worth it....
The solution to the flickering image problem is to increase the clip distance for the InteriorFore camera from 0.001 to 0.1.

This can be done by using the S3D editor...very easily.

Open the Cameras.dat file.....Look for Dummy Cam Interiorfore...
Open CameraParams.... you'll see the listing for Clip Distance.

Make the change and your good to go
Thanks Canonicus for the help.

I'm afraid I've had no luck spotting lightning either...even after completely deleting the entire savegame file, as was instructed ,before I started a new career.
Plenty of thunder though...

I swear! ..theres' got to be a trigger for this bugger that can be applied for everyone,...somewhere!

I am mid patrol mid career but i cannot wait to install this...is it dangerous to enable while at sea--maybe not since its just graphics? I have a full load of fish and would rather not return to port like that...

I have never seen that before. Some sort of card issue I'm guessing. :hmm:
Hello everyone,

Just like to say this is a beautiful mod, thanks so much to the creators, but I am having the same issue about the fire.

awesome, im glad it's here!

One quick question, what mods do you have to eliminate when you pack this one in through JSME?

Thanks!

I just enabled the mod last night, and WOW!!! One question though, I only enabled the ROW Textures, and the Oil Slicks. I didn't enable any of the "highend" reflections for fear of killing my FR. What exactly am I missing without these? From what I see so far, it looks great. I love the new sky colors, as well as the deeper blue of the ocean. Great work!

When I enabled this mod, JSGME warned me of several conflicts with RFB, and even LBO and OakGrooves Highres Inst. I just let it ride, and said yes to the overwrite. Haven't seen anything bad so far.

from what i know, the "highend" reflections don't eat fps at all they're not really highend as they don't have a higher resolution than the default ones, they just show up earlier and clearer. one downside (which is also visible when looking at landscape reflections near the horizon) is that, due to the low resolution the the reflection scene (the render-to-texture resolution i guess - not a 3d programmer so i don't know the correct vocabular to use), there is a bit of a flickering (aliasing) when looking at distant reflections. i guess that is the reason why the programmers decided to cut them completely. it's really a matter of personal taste if you'd like to enable them or not.

BigMik1
for anybody having this issue, you can help me in finding a cure:

first of all, state which gfx card you are using, what other mods you have applied and make sure your gfx card settings have been reset to defaults.

if that didn't solve it:

try removing the newfire_add.dds from the mod (data/texture/tnormal/tex) and instead use one of the files contained in this archive:

http://files.filefront.com/firetextu.../fileinfo.html

please tell me if that fixed anything for you.

if that doesn't help please try applying the following mod on top of your existing install:

http://files.filefront.com/latest+pa.../fileinfo.html

AND AS ALWAYS:
(sorry for the capital letters, but this has been the most common cause of problems)

Make sure there is no "copy of particles.dat" or "copy of materials.dat" or any other renamed version of these files *anywhere* inside your sh4 folder - only the one that came with the mod.

Hi Guys

I am having the same problems as a few others here regarding fire. Loevampire, your mod is simply awesome - brings a whole new dimension to the game, and I love the more sudued colours.
My card is a NX 7300 GS, I have AA switched off in my card settings and all graphic boxes unchecked. I originally had "light shafts" ticked, but it makes no difference whether ticked or not. I am running Tmaru patched and did notice when I activated "Relections on the water" a few files were indicated in Tmaru as clashing, but I just overode them all. I also installed the main "Reflections" file, plus the three smaller files. This was done 22nd SA time, so I don't know if this could be the problem as I see there is now a remark that these extra files are not needed if one down loads later than the 22nd.
Any help, greatly appreciated.

For me works your last remark. Just delete those two files from mod directory and it works fine.
