So I made some testing.I'm absolutely satisfied with the performance on the sea,it's 70+ fps.The only problem are really those harbors especially Pearl, approaching Midway runs fine as well.Thing I don't understand is lower performance in Pearl on this card then I used to have on X1900XT.May be that CPU needs to be overclocked...2.4GHz seems not enough for 8800 beast.

Maybe...

I run an e6700 at stock with an 8800GTX. Not sure on my actual frames because I've never had performance poor enough to care @ 1920x1200.

I do notice a frame drop every now and then near ports but I just wrote it off as cpu related.

EDIT: ok just got me curious. Is there a way to set core affinity to 1 core in the .cfg? I have had muchos improvement in many games that were not multi-threaded before.

I can't check right now because both my CPU's are being sent to my new place in the states.

You set it in the BIOS...

Nah man not for the entire system

What I mean is something in the .cfg file for SHIV.
For example: In IL-2 there is a line "Set Proccesor affinity" or something to that effect that forced the application to run on 1 core. With great results.

Right, just to tell you....I've slightly overclocked my E6600 to 2.88GHz (will go further after I buy a better fan) and I have 35+ fps in Pearl when standing on the bridge. Those 35 are at the begining then it's 40+ when leaving the port.Game settings are 1600x1200,4xFSAA,16xAF,everything maxed out. Before overclocking I had around 30 and there is one spot where it drops to 25 when you move the freecam. So guys I think my 8800 is working correctly.I've read your posts again, some of you are talking about 50+ in the harbors, but all of you are having an overclocked rigs.I've overclocked just a bit and as written above...40+,so I think that should be it.The game requires 3GHz and better CPU to run smoothly in the harbors.I think when I overclocked CPU,prformance improved accordingly,so whith all those comps running on 3.6GHz + oveclocked GPUs I already believe in 50+fps in harbors. Thanks for your replies.
