What I've always wished I'd had implemented since SH2 days is a choice of scripted actions, like "Dive 1 hour before sunrise set speed slow, surface 1 hour after sunset, set speed 2/3rds" for cruising enemy waters, or "dive every 4 hours for sound checking", etc.

It's really tedious, in long cruises, to take care of every dive and suface. I only want to be bothered in alerts, messages. The crew and officers should be able to routinely cruise on their own, shouldn't they?

I agree with SilentOtto, but what happens when your order are to surface, even though the sky is filled with enemy a/c.. Not a very inviting prospect..
But in view of me having to repeatedly change depth during cruises just to check radar or recharge batteries, I thing osmething along those lines would be good

Here is my wish list of the top of my head. I realize some are incorporated into major mod packs but since I am still having lots of crashes I prefer not to install major mod packs at this time.
1 ability to write on the nav map
2 ability to deterimine range at current speed
3 If you indavertently plot a course over a small island the crew should alert you to that fact
4 If you approach or reach test depth the crew should warn you
5 you should be able to pick a damage control team ahead of time without pulliing them from their normal duty station.
6sound man should warn of depth charges in the water
7you should be able to manually input range into the tdc without being limited to a certain range, as we are now.
8 It would be nice if someone could state what the exact magification of the various scopes is so we can use the ranging recticle and manually input the range.
9 the crew should be directed to fire the AA guns at surface targets
10in game volume adjustment for the grammophone would be nice.
11 A complete set of documentation would be good
12 Mappable keys would be a big improvement
13an accurate ruler for the map
14 command the deck gun to fire specifically at warships or merchants
15ability to write in log

Regarding #5, you can recruit sailors for the damage control team, that way you don't have to move them in the damage control slot later. It is very handy, since the sailors might have skills to make them useful to stand in at other stations (if those sailors are hurt/exhausted)

Hey, then's what you get the alert I was saying... a couple min at periscope depth, if nothing seen in observation periscope, surface.

Also, there is no option to crash dive when plane sighted, only periscope depth which I think is even worse than staying surfaced...

I terribly agree with next poster about writing on map (Need to know TIME of contacts or sightings!) and logbook.

Range at current speed is among nav instruments toolbar!

And yes, other things like notifying depth charges in the water, they were there in SH3 but probably also no time for including them at release date... Damn business executives!

Do it to it SOON!

Scripted commands would be a handy feature.
As would be a way to disable sonar contacts you have already been informed of and a "don't tell me about fishing boat or sampans anymore!"

I would like a astonomical almanac that gives moonrise/moonset/sunrise/sunset times and moon phases. Currently, I use a separate program called NightCal, but having it embedded in the game would be nice.

The ability to do what was called "riding the vents"= faster dive

The decks awash idea with people on the bridge IF it reduces you're radar signature and makes it harder for the AI to spot you visually (the other reason for running this way).

Maybe I've missed this somewhere but the ability to order left or right rudder in 5 degree increments via keyboard like the old silent service 2 had (tried to find a cmd like this to activate, maybe I missed it?)
