Back to topic please....the question was certainly interesting :hmm:

I also noticed that, it's the standard way I go to the attack scope. I leave teh camera there and then switch between F3 and that one to simulate how I look through the eyepiece and back. Adds a lot of inmersive feeling for me

P.S. in underwater attacks the commander would be in the conning tower attack scope normally until the need to go deep and evade arises

thats why i ask this
it brings SH3 one step closer to perfection. in a real sub this hatch was always open to

Well, it was in Das Boot. I don't know how many hatches were open in a real sub. Maybe under normal cruising conditions, but during an attack? I'm betting they buttoned everything up as tight as they could.

But don't get me wrong; I like the idea myself - it looks cool.
