I use GWX, SH III Commander, a few realism mods, a Fubar skin and plenty of Becks dark.

I first started with RUB then IUB now just GWX but its a bit slow on my PC so I just decided to download NYGM but when I downloaded the 2.4 upgrade it from filefront it said the files were corrupted and it wouldn't load the mission I can get it working with 2.2 so I might have a crack at it with that version but i will probably go back to GWX soon even though I have to wait ten minutes to get the game going.

Cheers

I'm a little duprised to see 5 more people using their own mix of mods than those who voted for NYGM TBH
I thought it would've been more popular than that!! :hmm:

Well, I wouldn't assume. For all we know any of those 19 that use a mix of mods may just well be using NYGM as their base with other mods (maybe graphical) applied on top.

Likewise they may be using any combination of any other mod. It's where the option is misleading. If I use GWX and add a few mods or ships and make a few tweaks, do I select the GWX option or the flavour/mixture option? Maybe I'd select GWX, but if my install consists of a bit of GWX, a bit of WAC, and a bit of NYGM (quite a possible combination btw), I'd choose the mixture option.

Then there's the fact that the poll only allows for one option to be selected. What about all the multi-install players? They'll select the mod they play the most (as was asked by the OP), meaning that all other mods they play will not be recorded by the poll. Alternatively, they too may select the mixture option as the mixture option doesn't specify one install and could cover a mixture of installs.

I guess what I am saying here is that any one of the 162 "predominantly GWX" players, or the 19 "mixture" players may well play, and regularly play, any of the other mods more than is being reflected due to the poll's construct.

Yep....fair dinkum Jaesen....I suppose more options would have allowed the poll to be more representative/reflective of what was being used

I didn't know exactly where to cut your quote so as to not copy something so long, but I couldn't decide. Anyway...

Good points. For myself, I would like to say I used RUB as a starting point, but I didn't even really do that. I went through it, using the excellent readme to pick each piece I wanted. I then used the campaign layers from the original GW, and some stuff from other sources, plus a lot of individual mods. NYGM and GWX weren't even available yet.

When I'm up and running again I'll probably start with GWX, just because there are so many changes and I'll want all the ships (including lighted neutrals), and that will be easier than going through the whole thing bit by bit. Anyway, it's not easy being different.
