This is the kind of crap I have to put up with whenever I do art direction for any council or government projects I produce artwork for. It's all 'Oooh, you must have a black person in that group shot, and a person in a wheelchair, and a lesbian single parent sperm whale etc, etc.'

Those of you who saw my WestWind promo joke movie will note that I even let this kind of bollox influence me on that, with one of the airline pilots being a negro, and I did that pretty much without conciously thinking about it.

It should have occurred to the advertisers I think, but then again, those who complain about this sort of thing need to go and find something better to do, it's not racist, it's just ill-advised. Unless Intel are replacing their Intel Inside slogan with Sieg Heil or something.

Images have a significant power which is why advertizing uses them, but being professionals they should be more aware of the unintended messages conveyed by the images they use as well as those they are designed for.

The problem is, if the ad is innocent, then they shouldn't have to worry about the Racism card. This is just a couple of black people whom have nothing better to do other than pulling the racist card again - pure political correctness. To me, this truely stinks of racism from the very people that are the ones calling racism.
