64x to 128x on patrol grid or when I'm snooping along a convoy route. 512x to cross "empty" stretches of ocean to get to my destination. 512x max underwater with three separate (morning, noon, evening before I surface) 1x sonar checks during the day.
I only use 2048x if I'm just goofing around and not really "simming".

How does TC affect the number of reported contacts?
I mean in comparison to another TC level. If you're using 64x instead of 128x, will you get a doubled number of possible contacts?
