In some ways KotOR 2 is better than the first.
1. More gameplay
2. Better Jedi Robes
3. Construct your own lightsaber
4. Modify almost all your equipment

But the story definitely does not tie so neatlyl together at the end.

Well if you consider a half finshed game as being superior to Kotor 1 which was a complete game, that explains why gaming is going downhill.
I preordered Kotor 1 2 weeks before it was published. I was going to do the same with Kotor 2 but when I learned that because of lucarts, obsidian had to publish the game even though it was "incomplete" and you could see the signs alla over the game well I just cancelled the pre-order and never played the game.

It definitely wasn't that bad. All I can say is that I had a good time playing it.

Maybe along the same lines a Vampire: Bloodlines.

Good news is that the Kotor2 restoration project is almost finished!:p They've basically along with streamlining the whole game added piles of extra content that was present in the game files but was not yet incorporated into the game itself. This includes dialogue, and lots of it. They've also played with the animations so that the dialogue looks better lined up. Theres alot there. Check it out.

Thank you very much for that link. I think I will wait a little longer and then buy the game when the mod is ready. Once again modders to the rescue it seems!

Indeed. And if you read more closely you'll see that they only have 19 more bugs to resolve before its ready. Thats after they've dealt with get this 814 other bugs. Now that is a committed mod team.
